Our Story

From a converted barn to Litchfield County's home for makers — the story of Red Barn Workshop.

A Workshop Rooted in Litchfield County

Red Barn Workshop Litchfield County LLC began the way most good things do — with sawdust on the floor and a stubborn belief that handmade matters. Located at 41 Hipp Road in New Milford, Connecticut, our workshop sits in the rolling hills of Litchfield County, where the tradition of craftsmanship runs as deep as the stone walls lining the back roads.

We're a retail workshop and craft supply store, but that undersells what actually happens here. We're a place where a first-time woodworker can pick up a chisel and learn to cut a dovetail joint. Where a seasoned furniture maker can find the exact species of hardwood they've been searching for. Where someone looking for a one-of-a-kind piece for their home can commission something built to last generations.

Our inventory includes premium hand tools, power tool accessories, hardwood lumber, finishing supplies, upholstery materials, and everything in between. We don't carry junk — every product in our store has been tested, used, and trusted by our own team.

Our Values

Honest Craft

We believe in work you can see, touch, and trust. Every joint tight, every surface finished with care. No shortcuts, because the wood remembers.

Local Roots

We source materials from New England suppliers whenever possible. Supporting local means supporting the ecosystem of makers around us.

Shared Knowledge

Craftsmanship isn't a secret — it's a skill meant to be passed along. Our workshops exist to turn curiosity into confidence and beginners into builders.
